The exhibition retraces the history of the road thanks to the photographs taken at the time, but also documents and historicalobjects. It’s divided into three sections: each has is own meaning and significance as well as its own set up.

The construction of the road is, of course, the theme of the first section; the second and third section are about the aftermath, starting form when, once the war was over, the road started being explored by those who were climbing up the Pasubio and its legend started to spread and take hold.

This is due to the fact that, in time, the road has become a special trail, “a journey”, with thousands of hikers showing up every year, and from every part of Europe. It has never been, in fact, not even during the war, a mere gateway, a path to a place. It has always been a place itself, one of those roads that are journey and arrivals at once. An experience which contains it own meaning.
